back to school

No, I'm not literally going back to school, but these cards make me want to go back and learn screen printing, and hopefully soon letterpressing. I love textiles of all kinds! I received this bicycle card and map envelope last year from the One of a Kind show in Toronto, and was very interested in their eco-friendly line of cards & textiles. They have cute fresh pops of colours and are very environmentally aware. Who wouldn't love that?

soft & sunny

As you already know, I am dreaming of sunny days. I love the feeling of a warm breeze on my bare arms and slipping on a pair of fantastic sandals and heading out for the day. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from a British Columbia-based designer, Kersh. I enjoy the touches of fresh colours and mixing in the textures of satin & silk, so chic!

v-day on it's way...

heaven scent

I picked up a tube of the beautifully packaged handcréme a little while ago. The scent is amazingly elegant and brought a little luxury into my life. The packaging itself is gorgeous, which is why I picked it up in the first place. (guilty as charged: pretty design does make people want to buy things) They sell everything from shampoos to handcréme, clothes and also stationery. The one thing that is my favourite and is ever so timeless, stationery perfume! I am not sure if on their website they ship to Canada, but you can find their products at any Au Lit store.

R.I.P.

To all those domino fans, including myself, may we have a moment of silence for the folding of Domino Magazine today. It was a source of inspiration for myself, and one of my guilty pleasures to read on a day off, or when I needed time to relax. I heart Domino!

blushing boudoires

I live in a bachelor apartment. Which means I do not have a bedroom! From time to time I lie awake dreaming of the perfect boudoire. Here are a few shots from my library of luscious beds to lie in. These bedrooms all have a sense of serenity and I love the pops of colour in the right places. Sugar plums would definitely dance in my head if I had one of these.

breathe in

Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like screaming? Today happens to be like that for me, and I can't help but feeling like a little bit of yoga might help. I hate that feeling of stress, that tight little ball near your heart that makes you either lose your appetite, or makes it bigger, or for some people it makes their hair fall out! (thank goodness that's not me, yet...) Yoga always makes my muscles relax and helps me to get away for a mini-vacation, even if it's only for an hour. Deep breath in...deep breath out. I'm feeling better already.

paper, plates & pillows

As you very well know already, I love paper! I enjoy searching and searching and finding so many different ways to express creativeness through stationery. I came across thomaspaul today and he not only does stationery, but pillows, totes, plates and more! I will definitely keep these in the inspiration bank I have.

I watched.

bring the outdoors in for spring

Bringing in elements of the outdoors can really make your place come alive. But there can be more than justing adding plants to your decor, what about some of these fun pieces from urbanoutfitters? They're bright and cheery and will get you excited about the sunny weather to come!
{note: the boots are actually ceramic vases!}

worldly goods

Pistachio is a really fantastic store in Toronto. They began with a simple idea about being environmentally sensitive and doing good things for the environment. I love their cute little cards. (especially their holiday selections) They also sell organic gifts and apothecary items. Check out the cute bird mobile! They also have a list of store locations on their site.

today's favourite colour Pantone 4895c

This muted shade is so soft and almost matte-like. I would love to pair it with a dark, velvet green or even just a pale buttercream colour. YUM!

something old

I heart antiques! I really enjoy the ornateness of the furniture, the hand painted flowers on an old teacup, and most of all, the story behind each piece. Here is one of my favourite teacups from my collection. White and gold is probably my favourite combination for teacups and plates, and this one has cute little fancy polka dots! One other thing I like is NOT to match: each teacup is different and beautiful, with their own unique flaws, little cracks and faded prints. Much like the persons that have passed on each cup down through the generations.

tired eyes and red skies

I woke up abruptly this morning. I would normally be annoyed since it's a saturday and I can sleep in, but this morning was different. One wall in my apartment is all windows, which I love because it faces south, so I can always see the sunrise and sunset. It is always filled with daylight, and today it was this, red sky! It's on mornings like this where you smile! I know that this means it may snow or storm later (according to the ol' sailor tale) but I can't help but feel for a moment that everything is right and beautiful. So I stood for a few moments, looked out at the cityline, and then fell back to sleep. Have a great weekend everyone!

I avoid outside, and think of the beach! With it being absolutely freezing outside, I am dreaming of sunny days, and vacations to be had. Inspiration above, I pulled a little something together that I will definitely be packing in my luggage in April when I leave for my Cayman island vacation.

letterpress loco

Can you believe how cute these coasters are? I am definitely a big fan of letterpress cards, coasters and paper. I even hope to have my own little stationery company one day. But for now, these adorable little orange hedgehogs will satisfy my hunger for all things handmade. Check out more of PaperedTogether creations: paperedtogetherletterpress
