Yesterday I got so much fresh local fruit from the market. {except the figs, they're from California, but I just couldn't resist!} All my meals this week will taste so fresh and yummy. Here's cheers to a new week everyone!

Yesterday I had a lovely day with my parents visiting me in the city. One of my favourite parts of the day was taking them to Restoration Hardware. It's just up the street from my house and is oh-so-tempting! It was their first time and I loved seeing their faces. The pieces are so unique and the style is so relaxing, yet gorgeous. The couches that look like they were made from potato sacks are super soft and so comfortable to sit in, and they always have the best leather colours. Oh how I would love to have two of their chairs in my apartment!

ohm and ahhh

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! It's been quite rainy and grey here, but that hasn't stopped me from really enjoying the fact that I can relax! I have been spending the weekend just treating myself with rest and I even slipped in a soothing yoga class this afternoon and now feel even better! I might try something different this afternoon too. How do you usually relax? I like to turn on the tv and tune out for a bit, but today I might turn the tv off and enjoy the silence of working on a puzzle or read for a bit, and then make a yummy dinner! Hope you're enjoying this lazy sunday too...

monday sun

Today I am wishing for some sun. I know it's monday, and is always a bit gloomy, but how about some sun to brighten my mood? I was checking out the daily blogs today, and spotted Leah Duncan's beautiful work on Oh So Beautiful Paper. Leah seems to be a 'jill of all trades' so to speak. She designs prints, scarves, pillows and just beautiful things in general. I love her use of pastel colours, a little on the retro side, but really cute. I would love to grab either of these pillow designs for my apartment. They make me happy!

While I am still at the office right now feeling the pressure of production time, I am also feeling the pressure to remember too many things! During this time at work, there are so many things I know I will just forget one. That's where this cute little ring comes in handy. {Thank you Sparklethots & Etsy} It would totally remind me of things to do, right? Or it might just be the fact that it's such an awesome design, and would look gorgeous on my finger. Imagine if your boyfriend or husband gave this to you as a reminder of your love for each other? It's that day again, that first day of the week where you want everything to start out right, but it never really does? However, that can always change if you let a little sunshine in, or inspiration. Today I found the cutest little ceramic travel mugs. How chic are these designs from YevGenia. {introducing!} Ava Reese

Hello my lovely readers. It has already been a week since my last post and I beg for your forgiveness! Don't be sad, I have good news to share with you, and will have been worth the wait. For the past little while I have been working with a dear friend of mine, Catherine who is starting her own line of soft goods. Catherine and I have worked together for quite a few years, and I have to say she is a woman of style! From her home decor & styling, to her down-to-earth yet modern fashion sense, this gal rocks! She is starting off with a small but solid collection of pillows & totes and I can only imagine it will keep growing and growing with the seasons! I also had the pleasure of designing her overall branding look. Stay tuned for updates on the business cards, tags and much more. I'm definitely going to be scoring a few pieces for my own studio apartment soon.

hello, peaches

I know it's not quite peach season yet, but do you ever have those weekends where you just want to bake something yummy? Peaches are my favourite fruit and I just was craving peach crisp. So I got out my favourite baking dish. {given to me by my mom when I moved into the big city} It always makes the food taste so good, and went to town on the baking! YUM it was so good! With a day off work, {a grey, rainy one at that} I'm hoping to get some personal projects done, fill my head with inspiration, and really just decompress for the weekend ahead. It's little things like a vase full of flowers or a pretty looking cake {or taking pictures of these with my camera} that brightens my day and pushes me to make something creative myself. What inspires you?

I know a lot of my designer friends may hate me for a moment today, but hear me out. When my friend Evan sent me this link about a font to rival Helvetica to the bitter end, I had to check it out. It made me think, when was the last time I actually used Helvetica? It's the font of all fonts, the godfather if you will. Every designer has used it, and has definitely made an impact in the design industry. But do I feel lost without it? I realized I hadn't even thought of using it in a project for years now, and welcome this new rival, with slight alterations to the x-height and curves. Bring it Aktiv Grotesk, let's see what you're made of!
