Working in the magazine industry, you become surrounded by photographers, prop stylists and pretty things of all kinds. Every once in a while you come across a beauty that just overwhelms you, strikes you in a different way, or perhaps makes you look at objects in a new light. I came across Kate Mathis yesterday. The light and props she uses are phenomenal, and gives an old world charm to beautiful things. I love the tarnished & antique objects..almost gives the photos a human presence, like you want to know the story behind them. The same goes for all her photos, they have such a great presence in them, leaves you wanting more!

Ooo I like all the letters. I'm beginning to think styling would be a cool second job, lol...

it would be really cool to style!!! Though, the only thing they say is that it sucks having to lug everything around from place to place in the car...
but stilll!! Being surrounded by pretty things and being on the search for the perfect item would be fun.

no i haven't worked with her, she's based in the states, but it's still inspiring even for other stylists that I can work with!
