shadows of history

I have been searching for really cute silhouette art. I found these on Apartment Therapy today and had to post them! It definitely inspires me to even make my own, with different papers or frames. I love the graphic nature of the chair silhouettes, and it feels a little bit français too! I think I might do an art project with my free time today...

sleeping the clouds away

It's the weekend! I must admit though, I had a few days off this week, so it doesn't quite feel like it's saturday to me, but I'm not complaining! I have a wee cold, so I will be staying in, and I made sure that I have lots of magazines and books to read, and maybe I'll watch a feel-good movie or two. What's your favourite thing to do on a weekend? Hope it's a lovely one!

lives of the rich & famous

I came across this post today. "Famed photographer Leibovitz pawns photos to pay off debts" Intriguing?

hum a little tune

A little while ago I posted some photos of a concert I went to at The Drake Hotel in Toronto. It was Lenka! Well, I had the television on in the background today, and heard a song from her (Don't Let Me Fall), on a TELUS commercial! I thought it was so fitting for the commercial, plus what designer doesn't love the TELUS advertisement material?

tiny heart big love

I spotted this oh-so-cute ring on Glassford Hill Girl earlier today. I purchased one! I love the little heart, and it's so simple. CherryCreek makes them and sells them on Etsy. She does full sizes, half & quarter, so it can fit any finger. I think it would super cute stacked too, but I love the simplicity of just one.

today's favourite colour Pantone SeaVee shoes

Are you as excited as me about these Pantone SeaVee shoes?! My super-fabulous-magnificent-amazing photographer and friend, Carlo (hey dude) sent me a link for these shoes and I had to post them right away! Aren't they beautiful? All the colours, the beautiful colours! Each pair is matched to a specific Pantone Matching System Swatch, which is supercool. I want a pair in every colour.

letters & ligatures

This is one of the fonts I am dying to get! It's called Memoir, by Veer. I love the capital letters especially the letter "M" and the little curl at the end. It has such a vintagey feel, but also comfortable & warm. Tres chic?

i've got joy

As you already know, I love paper! But one other thing I can't live without is beautiful jewelry. I like simple pendants and classic pieces and Hygge & West (via Black, White & Yellow) has some beautiful simple necklaces and rings, but they also sell cute stationery and clothes. I think that is just the perfect combination of handcrafted items! My Favourite is the happy necklace, so cute!

all aboard

I have been dreaming about summer for months now! Isn't it silly? I just can't wait to take some time by the water, long walks along the beach, sitting in some shade under a tree and all of that loveliness. I think when I grow up (teehee) I want a cottage, even if I don't own a house, I would love to own a small, cute, comfy cottage to weekend in! Here is one of my favourite shoots that Domino did last summer. I love the airy and fresh feeling, but still being cozy, with a touch of masculine. I also love the vintage maps and sailor-ishness. Divine.

must love

Happy Pancake Tuesday!! My friend Amanda (a designer's blog) informed me that it is pancake tuesday! Her lovely husband justin even made us pancakes for dinner, and they were fantastic! Who doesn't love a yummy breakfast for dinner?

trinkets & treasures

Hello my dears! I feel like I have been blog absent for a bit, even if it has only been a few days. I spent some time with family and friends over the weekend and it was wonderful. I had a perfect day scouring antique stores with my mom for hours on end, and here is something I found! I love antiques, especially the details that went into most of the pieces. I found a few things, but here is one of my favourites! I have been looking to dress up my bureau and also to organize my jewelry at the same time. A photographer I know collects these hands and I thought it was high-time I found one!

Jewelry is my own, bracelet from H&M, rings are various.

daydreaming

I know I am a bit delayed with this post, but I hope you are all having a lovely weekend filled with new things, friends, fun times and good dreams. My weekend has been filled with hours of antiques and good meals. My eye caught a few awesome pieces and I will be sure to post them this week. Do something spectacular today!

custom-made creativity

I am such a lover of custom-made pieces. Who wouldn't want to wear something made just for them? That's why when I found Kristen Laborde, I couldn't help but ask her to make me a custom ring. She designs amazing jewelry! Here is what she created for me; I love the mix of black, silvers, pearls and metals. Perfection!

Check out her website for more fantastic pieces.

framed

I can't help but collect art, it's just in my blood. I am always on the lookout for a unique style or something that catches my eye. I am quite selective in what I purchase though. I guess you could describe my style as vintage-inspired-simple-but-sometimes-complex-soft-coloured-lady-like. I am so thrilled for this weekend because I am heading to one of the biggest antique stores in Ontario and am determined to find a new piece of art! I will be sure to post my finding! Here are a few framed pieces I've collected over the years. I have still quite a few leaned up against my wall ready to be framed too...oh for the love of art!

out of a dream

I was just reading coco+kelly and could not help but post pics from this wedding. This is my absolute dream! From the wedding dress, to the photography, to my FAVOURITE part: the green dresses! Such a beautiful overall wedding look, it makes me want to get married asap. *sigh

tea and elegancy

I collect teacups. I love floral prints, subtle colours & intricate shapes. I don't have any teacups that match, and that's the way I like it! Here are a few that I am aching to get from Anthropologie.

caught in the act

I spotted these from Coco+Kelly a little while ago. How awesome are they? I have a pair of caramel brown leather boots that are screaming to adorn themselves! My fave pair of bands are the white with the sailor charm...I might have to splurge. Check out the 2 Bandits website, and their blog, so cute!

the real deal

Esquire is one of my inspiration magazines. Though the content is for men, when I flip the pages it is for a different reason. The design itself is fantastic, the photography is crisp and makes such a statement. Here are a few of my favourite covers from their archive.
