Tomorrow is officially the first day of fall and I just can't believe it! Well, that's not entirely true, I went to the market early saturday morning and it was a wee bit chilly, and there was a brisk-ness to the air. So I knew it was coming...I even threw on a scarf this morning and really enjoyed my hot coffee! Seeing this beautiful kitchen actually got me a little into the fall season, with the dark rich colours we always see in the fall wardrobe, and with the elegance of the old-world. Makes me want to don a silk housecoat and pearls!

bonjour weekend

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far! I was busy all morning, filling my belly with yummy breakfast and antique shopping. Of course my goal is to always find something stuffed in the corner where no one looks, and guess what? I found a few super cool things! I will post later this week {boo to forgetting my camera this weekend...} But speaking of super cool things, I have a new favourite blog I wanted to share with you. A fellow Torontonian named Celine {who I most recently found out is taking the letterpress curiosity workshop, which is fabulous} has a blog called Bonjour! It's beautiful! She also has a flickr link that contains some of the cutest, colour filled photos I've ever seen. It's definitely inspiring and I encourage all of you to take a peek, and promise you won't be disappointed. It may even brighten up your weekend?

Fall!! It was only 10 degrees this morning! I even had to bust out my blazer and toe-covering flats. The hot Starbucks definitely helped, but I can't deny the blustery breeze is in the air. I would love to have this outfit. The perfect fall colour combinations, red, cream, black and white. It might make the fall season better...right?

Today, as by my previous post, I don't have much to say. Sometimes that's ok. So here is a photo of the view from my balcony. The lighting was gorgeous, no smoke, no mirrors, no filters. Just a beautiful sky! I might try this more often, just posting a random photo I have taken, purely for the natural beauty & enjoyment...whatya think?

As much as I dread mondays, I have to admit there is something refreshing about starting a new week. I try and soak up as much of sunday as possible, but I should embrace the thought of monday. Time to get groceries, organize, take a deep breath in and set out to see what this week has to offer.

Together with my two awesome friends, Quinn {helllooo} & Amanda {from a designer's blog}, we ventured out to Snap & Tumble's LetterPress Curiosity workshop today. {hi Tanya!} She was such a great teacher! I learned so much and the whole experience just cemented my love for handmade projects. I mean, just looking at all the type blocks made us swoon! All 3 of us printed as much as we could and I could have totally done it all day. {especially after the amazing cupcake sugar rush!} Thanks Tanya! It was so fantastic. So now, I just have to get matching envelopes for my creations and will post the finished product soon!

a letter for your thoughts

I am so excited! Tomorrow I'm heading out with Amanda {a designer's blog} and my friend Quinn {hi!} to Snap & Tumble's letter pressing workshop. These past few weeks I have been keeping my eyes open for interesting cards, letters and paper. Though I'm usually quite a planner on what things to create, this time I think I'm going to wait and see what she has and get creative on the spot. Stay tuned for the results!

today's favourite colour Pantone 7510c

This timeless caramel colour is beautiful! {No wonder Burberry uses it as a staple colour in their collections!} I would love to have a fall coat in this colour, with a large high collar, and match it with my knee high black boots and dark jeans. Voila!

getting a head start

Ok, so I know it's still summer, and usually I would be the first person to scream my head off when someone starts talking about fall. This year seems different. I work in the magazine business, and if any of you know, we work on the fall issues in the middle of summer, so by the time Thanksgiving or Christmas come, I am so over it! But after being at the cottage this past weekend, cuddling with friends in front of a hot campfire wrapped in a cozy sweater, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement for the fall season. I think this is the year I enjoy the colder months! I plan to go apple picking, and maybe even bake my first pie! And who doesn't love sporting a cable-knit sweater and donning a red toque? Or sipping on a toasty drink after a chilly afternoon walk. All these things sound quite delightful to me this year. Hooray!

Back from an extended long weekend, I made my way back to work today. Hope your past few days have been fun and adventurous! My weekend was so great and I can't wait to share my memories with you soon. In the mean time, I had a thought this morning of wouldn't it be fabulous to drive along to work elegantly dressed in heels while riding a Vespa? Transit, shmanzit...
