take a minute

It's Tuesday, and a short week! Canada Day is on thursday, so that gives me a 4-day weekend...and gives me reason to Dance.Dance.Dance.

Everyone have a lovely day!

a fondness for fridays

Fridays leave me dreaming about the weekend that is to come. Even as busy as fridays are most of the time, I can't help but take a moment to get excited at the possibility of making memories and savouring the summer air. I hope to finish a little design project that I can't wait to share with all of you soon, and also just sit, and read outside. I find I get so used to multi-tasking throughout the week that it's actually a challenge to sit and only concentrate on one thing. But practice makes perfect, right?

What a refreshing moment it was when I spotted Catherine Hamerton's home featured on Design*Sponge. Living in a small space myself, I am always looking for inspiring ways to re-decorate or re-organize. It's tough finding that airy feeling, and not having any clutter. But with Catherine's space, she makes some clutter seem cheery and eclectic. I love her little studio spot and one day hope to have my own! I also love the white walls and the pop of colour in the accessories, and perhaps that's why she's in the textile industry...non?

summer sizzle

I think summer is officially here! {ok, so it's tomorrow, but this weekend sure proved it's just around the corner.} It's hot and sunny and I love it! Given it's the Father's day weekend, I'm visiting my parents and couldn't be happier. Last night to beat the heat, we headed over to Marble Slab Creamery, and it was amazing. I had cinnamon ice cream with shredded coconut mixed in...yum! What's your favourite way to beat the heat? It's sizzlin' out there...

summer tarts

The summer season definitely gets me into the baking and cooking spirit. How I love picking up a bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables and being inspired to make something delicious. Lately I have been eyeing a lot of tart recipes. Whether it's a frittata brunch style, to a summery dessert, I am thinking this might be the way of the summer for me. Plus who doesn't love buying those little cute baking pans and putting the simplest ingredients together and have it look good! Now to find the easiest pastry and crust recipe to go along with those fresh ingredients...got any suggestions?

Such a quiet day at the office, so lovely! I am finding myself daydreaming about lots of things. Oh how I would love to be in a huge antique store, searching for the perfect little baubles and such. What's the best thing you've found at a vintage shop?

Just spotted a few images on Garance Doré for her post about the Chanel Resort line for 2010/11. So gorgeous! Love the mix of florals, classic chanel tweeds and light airy white cottons. Looking through all the styles makes me wish I lived on a boat, could drink Perrier and wear sunglasses every day! *Sigh...

june greeting

Photobucket

Photobucket

Hello my dears! I am now back home from my week away in paradise. Though, I have to say that in the city right now, it's warm, sunny and finally summer-like weather! My week away was lovely, and full of snorkeling, swimming, reading and eating SO MUCH yummy food. I did feel like the week sped by and coming back on the plane on sunday felt premature. I definitely wasn't ready to get back to reality. Don't you think when you go on vacation that two weeks should be mandatory? A week to decompress, and a week to enjoy!

Coming back, I feel a fresh start to summer coming on. My hope is to really enjoy some of the summer season, go for bike rides, see lots of concerts and just really savour all the moments it has to offer. Here's to June!

P.S. I hope to process my photos from my trip soon to give you a peek into the loveliness I saw. Stay tuned...
