camera shy

camera shy

Today I am helping out a friend with a photo shoot...I'm so nervous! Mainly because I am the model, and typically, I like being behind the camera rather than in front. But I have complete faith in her and trust she will make me look good! {right Amanda?} Cross my fingers it turns out to be an empowering experience!

sun-drenched

sun drenched

Man, it's bright out there today! Though it's not quite too warm, the rays make it somehow seem warmer...which gets me thinking about sun drenched shades of the rainbow. I love to see faded colours all matched together, leaving every outfit to look comfortable and soft. What I wouldn't give to slip on a loose white tea and faded jeans! (oh, and add that LV scarf to the list...)

sun filled weekend

breakfast

Happy weekend! I was lucky enough to have a little longer weekend, with yesterday being off work. I was able to munch on some yummy fresh lemon twist & chocolate croissants and latte's with Amanda at this amazing cafe on Queen East. SO GOOD and fresh! Just love the atmosphere too, so warm and welcoming. We then headed to the studio to get our hands dirty with the press! {letterpress, that is} It was so fun, and the sun was shining all day, which made it feel even better. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

gold and glam

I'm feeling a bit moody today and am feeling glam & dark, like a mix of golds and blacks. Even in my outfit I'm rocking the caramel boots, black tights and gold jewelry...must be the the ominous grey skies and party that's supposed to go on tonight at work! Cocktails anyone?

for beauty's sake

Working in the magazine industry, you become surrounded by photographers, prop stylists and pretty things of all kinds. Every once in a while you come across a beauty that just overwhelms you, strikes you in a different way, or perhaps makes you look at objects in a new light. I came across Kate Mathis yesterday. The light and props she uses are phenomenal, and gives an old world charm to beautiful things. I love the tarnished & antique objects..almost gives the photos a human presence, like you want to know the story behind them. The same goes for all her photos, they have such a great presence in them, leaves you wanting more!

fresh spring air

spring3

spring 5

The first day of spring has finally arrived! Even though it's grey outside, I had the yearning to don my sunglasses, ballet flats and roll up my distressed pair of skinny jeans a little to show some ankle, just to prove that spring is here! I think I might even stop in at the flower shop on my way home from the office {yes, I had to work today} to brighten up my room where the grey skies are peering in my window.

OH and spring cleaning must start soon! Time to declutter...

and breathe

eiffel

When I am stressed I must think of beautiful things to calm me down. Work all nighters are no fun and make me want to cry. Will it ever end? I need a vacation.

monday madness

sorry

I regret to inform you my dears, but on this monday, I am sick with a cold! Last week was so wonderfully filled with all sorts of fun, that of course afterwards I get sick. That's my excuse for the delay in posts, but I have so much I want to share including two amazing concerts and some stationery photographed for Wedding Bells Magazine. So sit tight and I'll be back soon.

now that's a statement

How brilliant is this March issue of Dutch Vogue?! The photo alone is beautiful, but the way they treated the masthead and cover lines is fantastic.. LOVE how that 99 just sits perfectly on the left...

over amazingly designed fonts! This morning while sipping my coffee, I fell in love with how the word "coffee" looked in the font Raniscript at Veer. Oh those beautiful letters..I just wish I had some extra cash to buy all of Veer's new fonts!

P.S. The Muse concert was fantastic last night! Hoping I got a few good shots...stay tuned.

monday with muse

I think it's gonna rock.

sleepy monday

monday1

I still seem to be recovering from my night on saturday, what is the deal? My whole body hurts! I'm going to see Muse tonight at the Air Canada Centre, which should be a totally good show, but all I feel like is wearing a comfy set of pj's and settling in for the night. I'm sure once I get there I will be pumped though. Stay tuned for an awesome video teaser of what I may encounter tonight!

Happy monday to all!

all dressed up and somewhere to go

ball

Just breathe...I have been in preparation all day for the Snowball tonight. Yes, a real ball with floor length gown and everything! When I first found out I was going, I was in sheer panic, not just because it's a ball, but because shopping for floor length gowns and shoes are a nightmare for a short girl! It must have been my lucky day when I found a perfectly fitting BCBG gown, {no hemming required} and size 5 1/2 killer heels. {what store ever carries that size?!} Just a little makeup and I'm good to go! Hope you're all having a fabulous sunny glamour weekend!

Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness! Just spotted these bridesmaids dresses at Erin Ever After and HAD to post them. I am such a huge fan of grey and yellow pairings and this pairing is perfection! I absolutely adore the flounciness of the dresses, and the table settings on the beach...my my...

a layer for every season

layer

One thing I love about spring, is that it's usually necessary to layer your clothing. With the mornings being a little brisk, but afternoons turning sunny and bright, a few light layers are all you need. I am especially loving that slightly slouchy mixed with tailored pieces, like what that beautiful girl is wearing above. What else would be perfect for that? A bunch of Tiffany bracelets stacked up the arm! Only in my dreams...

Though it was still a bit chilly this morning, the sun was shining and I could sense a little bit of spring coming my way. Oh I can't wait to slip on a light jacket and ballet flats while walking to work instead of being all bundled up with big boots and static in my hair...

she's a beauty

*Sigh...That's how I feel like starting my post. It has been so busy lately, and I feel absolutely horrible for not being able to post every day, even with so many beautiful things I see day in day out! With that I wanted to show you a little purchase I made this week from Elephantine. Her jewelry is simple, but absolutely gorgeous! You know those pieces that no matter what you wear, you put it on and feel elegant & timeless? This Bellissima bracelet is exactly that. Her matching necklace is beautiful, and you can also get both in silver if that's more your fancy!
